aWARE project participates in the UK Water Platform Meeting
The LIFE aWARE partners, Cetaqua and LNEC, participated in the Water Platform Meeting ‘WATER WORKS – overcoming challenges to achieving good water status in urban areas’ that was held in Manchester on 24-25 May 2016.
In this event, which was hosted by the Environment Agency, several showcases of successful innovative technologies were presented and the achievements, strengths and methodologies employed in the Integrated Projects of the LIFE + program based in the UK were explained.
During the event, several LIFE projects were presented in three parallel sessions covering the topics of Physical Pressures, Chemical Status and Water Efficiency. The LIFE WIRE project (also coordinated by Cetaqua), which aims to provide technical solutions for the substitution of conventional water resources by reclaimed water in industries, was selected as an example of the initiative to promote water reuse. During each of the sessions, the participants discussed about the main barriers that the demonstration projects face for their widespread implementation.
